Haast Table
Description
The Haast table is made from an ancient tōtara tree (a native timber of New Zealand) that has fallen naturally into rivers and preserved for hundreds of years under sediment layers before natural water erosion exposes them. We rescue these trees and continue their journey to become a cherished piece of functional art.
The natural organic live edge slab is finished with hand rubbed natural plant oils to bring the gorgeous grain to life. The table base is made from aged copper, acts as a cradle, deliberately simple to avoid competing with the incredibly beautiful grain pattern of the tōtara wood top.
