Ebb and Flow Credenza

Description

The Ebb & Flow credenza was inspired by our observations of an ocean worn cliff face on the wild West Coast of New Zealand. Our search for design inspiration took us on an adventure to the Truman Track - a walk through unspoiled subtropical forest where ancient native trees tower above thickets of vine and palms.

The track emerges on a spectacular coastline with cliffs, caverns, and a waterfall that plummets straight onto a rock-strewn beach.

The Ebb & Flow credenza is our representation of the powerful ocean forces that have shaped the natural landscape of New Zealand. The credenza is made from a matai tree (New Zealand native tree) rescued from a river on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand.

This sustainable timber, naturally felled by nature, has been carbon dated at over 1500 years old. The trees’ location co-ordinates are inscribed on a stainless Tréology tag and attached to the credenza, connecting the owner to a unique piece of New Zealand nature.

The credenza has two hinged doors with an adjustable timber shelf behind each door and two central dovetailed drawers on full extension soft close runners. The steel base has a black powder coat finish but is also available with brushed stainless steel.

The credenza is finished with hand rubbed, low V.O.C., natural plant oils to bring the grain to life.

Handmade in Christchurch, New Zealand.
