Milford Credenza

Description

The Milford credenza is made from an ancient matai tree (a native timber of New Zealand) that has fallen naturally into rivers and preserved for hundreds of years under sediment layers before natural water erosion exposes them.

We rescue these trees and continue their journey to become a cherished piece of functional art. The matai wood top is finished with hand rubbed natural plant oils to bring the gorgeous grain to life.

The folded aged, blackened steel base was inspired by the plunging mountains that create the Milford Sounds. The base represents the way light casts shadows on the ridges and valleys of the mighty Mitre Peak. The credenza has three hinged doors with an adjustable timber shelf behind each door.

The credenza is finished with hand rubbed, low V.O.C., natural plant oils to bring the grain to life.
