Mobius Icon Sculpture

Description

The Tréology mobius sculpture represents the life cycle of a tree - growing from a seedling to mature tree, succumbing to Mother Nature and falling into a river to be rescued and crafted into a piece of luxury art to be cherished as a unique piece of nature.

The sculpture is made from rimu, a New Zealand native tree, rescued from a river on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand.

This sustainable timber, naturally felled by nature, is preserved for hundreds of years under sediment layers before natural water erosion exposes them.

We rescue these trees and continue their journey to become a cherished piece of art. The river rescued trees have been carbon dated at over 1500 years old. The wood is finished with a hand rubbed, low V.O.C., natural plant oils to bring the stunning grain to life.
